We have come through thick and thin,
Yet I feel I must say again
That no matter where I've ever been,
I've been glad that you were there, friend.
Maybe I never knew before
The true meaning of the word.
But, you have taught me all about
The friends who are preferred.
You have listened without criticizing.
You are loyalty, trust and understanding.
Giving advice only when it's requested,
You are patient, but undemanding.
I may not tell you often enough,
But I recognize your worth.
The world would be a better place
If there were more like you on earth.
